Navy Region Southwest leads in Navy shore installation management byproviding numerous types of shore support for the Pacific Fleet and Sailors in California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado. These include port and air operations, security, force and environmental protection, safety, housing, bachelor quarters, logistics, and feeding the hundreds of thousands of active-duty, Reserve, retired military and family members in the region.

The Relocation Office provides assistance in pre-move planning, workshops and seminars, one-on-one relocation assistance counseling, destination specific information such as Welcome Aboard Packages, printouts, Auto maps, and Housing availability.

Upon Arrival

Congratulations on your selection for assignment to the staff of Navy Region Southwest Transient Personnel Unit (TPU)! Our mission is to support operational units and the Navy personnel of the Pacific Fleet. We ensure that personnel who are currently enroute to a new duty station, awaiting orders, pending separation or in a disciplinary or legal-hold status are processed efficiently and effectively. Your tour on board will be a challenging, interesting, and rewarding experience in your Navy Career.

Driving in California

All military installations issue Department of Defense decals that are honored on all other stations. To get a decal for naval installations in the area, you'll need to go to the Pass and Decal Office at your particular base.

For either a decal or a temporary pass, you will need to show your automobile registration, driver's license, military identification card and proof of insurance. Liability insurance is mandatory in California, and you must be insured for a minimum of $15,000 bodily injury (per person), $30,000 bodily injury (per accident), and $10,000 property damage (per accident)

Ombudsman Information - San Diego

Navy Family Ombudsmen are communications links, information and referral resources, and advocates for command family members.

Appointed by the Commanding Officer, Command Ombudsmen are volunteers and spouses of service members within the command. As an official command representative, the Ombudsman is a point of contact for all family members connected to the command - including spouses, parents, and extended family members. The Ombudsman Code of Ethics guarantees professionalism and confidentiality, within program guidelines. Each Ombudsman Program is owned by the Commanding Officer and will be unique to the command's size and needs.
